How to Plan a Fabulous Baby Shower: Food
Yummies for Tummies
Are you throwing a food-themed shower like a tea party or barbecue? When it comes to food for a shower, I like to KISS ("Keep It Simple, Stupid"). I haven't offended you, have I dear reader? I certainly hope not! Finger food is the way to go - it doesn't get in the way of games or activities, it's simple to make and to purchase, and it's visually pleasing.
To DIY
Grab a box of brownie mix and some toothpicks and make "brownie bites."
Fill mini-Phyllo dough cups (available in your grocer's freezer) with the ingredients for a quiche, and mini-quiches will be born.
You can use the same cups for a dessert by filling them with instant pudding and placing a candy on top. COST: Varies
Note from the editor:
*I've recommended a few of my favorite easy but delicious appetizer recipes from MyGourmetConnection.com below. They can be made ahead of time with relatively little effort and served to your guests when the time is right.
• Ham, Apple & Boursin Roll-ups
• Speedy Cream Cheese & Olive Spread
• Mini Rosemary Corn Muffins*
To Purchase
Think bulk or family-sized. There are tons of frozen and fresh goodies ready to pop into the oven or put out for your guests. Consider veggie and dip trays, fruit trays, chips and dip, frozen eggrolls, mini-quiches and any other bite-sized appetizers you find.
Remember, you don't have to be the cook in order for the food to be delish. COST: Varies

I agree completely. Finger foods are so easy to prepare, and you can make a few different kinds so your guests can have a variety.
