Handmade Back to School Shopping: Part II

It's time to get back to school, and our second installment of handmade items for kids includes incredibly unique choices to show off your child's individuality.

1. Candy Apple Red Clippies - $3.50

These sweet little hair clips from georgia blue are candy apple red with white stitching. Perfect for sweeping a girl's hair off to the side and out of her face, each clip measures 1-7/8" by 3/8".

2. School Spirit Bow - $5.50

Girls of any age can show off their school spirit with these custom bows from SoBella Creations. Choose the two colors that represent your school or favorite team, and the bow will be attached to a 2" French barrette or a double prong alligator clip. The custom bows are made with 1-1/2" wide ribbon and the edges are treated to prevent fraying.

This Kangaroo Hoody Top for kids is made by Unique Batik, a producer that works with craftswomen in Guatemalan and Ghanian villages. Their items are dyed with vegetable dyes, so in addition to empowering women with fair wages, Unique Batik also focuses on creating eco-friendly goods.

The Kangaroo Top is made from 100% cotton woven striped fabric in shades of green, yellow and blue. The hood has a point and there is a large "kangaroo pouch" on the front. It comes in small and medium sizes and is perfect for boys or girls.
