Lily Organics

Lily Organics is a natural skin care company founded by Lily Morgan, a seventh generation farmer and author of Beauty, Health and Happiness - A New Way of Life.

I had the opportunity to try some of Lily Organics' fabulous skin care products - made from essential oils and organically grown herbs, never any chemicals or synthetics - as well as read her book.

Lily Organics has been making 100% pure and cruelty-free products since 1986, so they've had decades to develop truly efficient yet good-for-you skin care products that are also safe for the environment.

I tried the Organic Moisture Mist (my personal favorite), the Balancing Facial Lotion and the Nourishing Facial Cleanser.

These are just a small representation of Lily Organics' vast line of products. The Organic Moisture Mist was my favorite because I live in a hot climate and felt that it left my face feeling cool, refreshed and revitalized.

It contains seaweeds, chamomile, calendula, citrus seed extract and essential oils of ylang ylang and lavender.

The Balancing Facial Lotion is designed for normal/oily skin types with a ton of natural ingredients like bee propolis, essential oils, almond oil and more. The Nourishing Facial Cleanser is for dry/mature skin types and is a homemade almond oil soap with vitamin E and other face-friendly ingredients.

I really liked that these products didn't have a strong aroma and simply felt fresh and clean (especially since Lily makes fresh batches each week).

Beauty, Health and Happiness was just the icing on the cake - an incredibly interesting and comprehensive resource for people interested in organic skin care.

This book can answer just about any question you might have about the natural ingredients and remedies for holistic beauty. It explains everything from how to understand labeling on products to beauty treatments based on skin type to rejuvenation therapies for health.

The parts I found most interesting and useful were the sections that outlined the basic properties and uses of herbs, essential oils and other natural ingredients. There are some great tips inside for making your own homemade remedies, too!
